Sentinel

Sentinel.
One rugged core.
Many jobs.

Sentinel watches and controls the things that keep a remote operation running: pumps, tanks, generators, machinery, vehicles and the people who work alone. It tells you the moment something is wrong or goes quiet, and lets you switch equipment from your phone, even with no phone coverage. Every unit is built on one rugged core and reports into Fusion Cloud.

Where it came from

The third step in our hardware

We started with Starlink power boosters, then built Fusion, our smart range that powers and monitors Starlink, and Fusion grew into Sentinel. Fusion is now the name of our cloud platform, Fusion Cloud, and Sentinel is the name of all our electronics.

High power and low power

Two kinds of Sentinel

High power

High-power Sentinel gateways power and monitor Starlink in vehicles and at fixed sites on 12 and 24 volt systems.

Low power

Low-power Sentinel devices do the monitoring and control without powering a dish, and can run on a coin battery. For scale, a Starlink Mini uses about 50 amp hours a day.

Families

The Sentinel families

Pulse

Pumps, pivots, tanks, troughs, fences and generators.

Plant

Machinery engine hours, utilisation, location and theft.

Fleet

Road vehicle tracking and trip logs.

Personal

Lone-worker man-down, duress, check-ins and GPS.

Overboard

Raises the alarm when a crew member and the boat separate.

Shared by every unit

What every Sentinel has

  • Long-range LoRa mesh radio. Devices hop data node to node, so range grows as you add units.
  • Connection direct to LEO satellite, with Starlink optional.
  • A battery in every unit, so it keeps reporting through a power cut.
  • No alarm settings on the device. Every alarm is set in Fusion Cloud, so thresholds change remotely, and Fusion Cloud alarms when a device goes silent.
  • Monitoring and control. The same device that reports on a pump, valve or gate can switch it.
Applications

What Sentinel does

Written once, used across every industry it fits.

Pump monitoring and control

Know a remote pump is running, and start or stop it, without driving out to check. Sentinel reports pump state, alarms on a fault or when the pump goes quiet, and the same device switches it on and off.

Used in: Agriculture, Mining, Government and utilities

Centre pivot monitoring

See where a pivot is and whether it is moving and watering as it should. Sentinel tracks position and water pressure along the span, and Fusion Cloud alarms when a pivot stalls or pressure drops.

Used in: Agriculture

Tank and trough levels

Check water levels on every tank and trough from your phone instead of doing the run, with an alarm before stock run dry.

Used in: Agriculture, Government and utilities

Irrigation channel gates

Monitor water levels in channels and open or close the gates you already have, remotely. Built to retrofit existing gates rather than replace the whole system.

Used in: Agriculture

Electric fence monitoring

Get told when a fence stops working, not when the stock are out. Sentinel logs fence strength over time, so a weakening line shows up before it fails.

Used in: Agriculture

Generator monitoring

Know a generator is running, how it is going and when it stops, wherever it is. Run hours and alarms land in Fusion Cloud, and it can be started or stopped remotely where the set allows.

Used in: Agriculture, Mining, Industrial, Government and utilities

Condition monitoring

Catch a failing bearing, pump or motor before it breaks. Sentinel watches temperature, vibration and sound on any machine with a bearing, learns what normal looks like for that machine, and alarms when it drifts.

Used in: Mining, Industrial, Agriculture, Government and utilities

Plant and machinery

Real engine hours so servicing falls due on actual use, plus utilisation, location and theft alerts for tractors, headers, loaders and other machinery.

Used in: Agriculture, Mining, Industrial

Fleet tracking

Location, trips and usage logs for utes, trucks and light vehicles, with a path to servicing on real use.

Used in: Industrial, Mining, Government and utilities, Agriculture

Trailers and equipment

Know where trailers and towed equipment are, whether they have moved, and the state of their batteries, for farms, trades and hire fleets.

Used in: Industrial, Agriculture, Recreation

Caravans and camper trailers

Security, breakaway battery monitoring, tracking, and relay of your onboard battery, solar and fridge readings over satellite when you are out of coverage.

Used in: Recreation

Lone-worker safety

Man-down, duress button, check-in timers and GPS, so someone working alone can get help sent to where they are.

Used in: Mining, Government and utilities, Agriculture, Industrial

Man overboard

Crew wear a tag, and the boat raises the alarm when a crew member and the vessel separate, with the location to find them.

Used in: Marine

Remote site connectivity

One gateway that switches automatically between LoRa, on-site Wi-Fi, Starlink and 4G, and connects direct to LEO satellite, so data gets out from sites with no phone coverage.

Used in: Agriculture, Mining, Industrial, Recreation, Government and utilities, Marine

FAQ

Common questions

Is Sentinel available now?

Sentinel is in productisation and pilots, and we are taking on pilot customers and resellers.

Does it replace my Fusion booster?

Fusion was the step before Sentinel, and the Fusion smart power range is still sold through our store.

Why is there a battery in every unit?

So it keeps reporting and can tell you the power has gone, rather than just going quiet.

Why are the alarms in the cloud and not on the device?

So thresholds can be changed per machine from anywhere, and so a device that stops reporting raises an alarm too.

Pilots and resellers

Pilot scope

What to confirm for your site

These capabilities are being productised and piloted. A site assessment confirms the supported setup before deployment.

Radio coverage

Terrain, obstructions, antennas and gateway placement affect LoRa coverage. No universal distance is specified here; agree a coverage test for your site.

Satellite and mobile service

LoRa carries local device data. A gateway needs a supported onward connection for remote cloud access. Confirm satellite service, network availability and the supported gateway configuration.

Power and reporting

Battery duration and alarm delivery depend on the device, reporting interval, power system and connection. Confirm the required runtime and reporting behaviour in the pilot scope.

Compatibility and pricing

Confirm sensors, switching outputs, equipment interfaces, installation and service costs with us. This website does not publish a universal compatibility list or Sentinel price list.
