Mining condition monitoring and lone-worker pilots

On a mine site, the expensive failures are the ones nobody saw coming: a bearing that ran hot for a week, a pump that stopped overnight, a worker alone in a remote area who did not check in. Sentinel puts rugged devices on that plant and on those people, and Fusion Cloud raises the alarm early.

The problems we hear

What gets in the way

  • Bearings, motors and pumps fail without warning and stop production.
  • Plant is serviced on the calendar rather than on real hours.
  • People work alone in areas with no reliable coverage.
  • Remote pumps and generators need someone to drive out to check them.
Applications

What Sentinel does in mining

Each application below is part of the Sentinel range on one common core.

Condition monitoring

Catch a failing bearing, pump or motor before it breaks. Sentinel watches temperature, vibration and sound on any machine with a bearing, learns what normal looks like for that machine, and alarms when it drifts.

Pump monitoring and control

Know a remote pump is running, and start or stop it, without driving out to check. Sentinel reports pump state, alarms on a fault or when the pump goes quiet, and the same device switches it on and off.

Generator monitoring

Know a generator is running, how it is going and when it stops, wherever it is. Run hours and alarms land in Fusion Cloud, and it can be started or stopped remotely where the set allows.

Plant and machinery

Real engine hours so servicing falls due on actual use, plus utilisation, location and theft alerts for tractors, headers, loaders and other machinery.

Fleet tracking

Location, trips and usage logs for utes, trucks and light vehicles, with a path to servicing on real use.

Lone-worker safety

Man-down, duress button, check-in timers and GPS, so someone working alone can get help sent to where they are.

Remote site connectivity

One gateway that switches automatically between LoRa, on-site Wi-Fi, Starlink and 4G, and connects direct to LEO satellite, so data gets out from sites with no phone coverage.

On site

How it works here

Condition monitors bolt onto anything with a bearing and learn what normal looks like for that machine. Plant and vehicles report hours and location. Personal devices give lone workers a duress button, man-down and check-ins. Everything meshes back over LoRa to a gateway and out over the site network, 4G, Starlink or satellite.

FAQ

Common questions

Does condition monitoring need presets for each machine?

No. It learns each machine’s own normal, so it fits plant of different ages and makes.

Can it work alongside our site network?

Yes. Gateways can use on-site Wi-Fi as well as 4G, Starlink or satellite.

Can lone workers raise an alarm without phone coverage?

Yes. Personal devices send over LoRa mesh and the gateway gets it out.
